The Diamond Approach
Overview
The Diamond Approach is a contemporary spiritual teaching developed by A.H. Almaas in the 1970s that uniquely integrates ancient spiritual wisdom with modern depth psychology through a methodology called Diamond Inquiry—open-ended questioning and phenomenological investigation of immediate experience. What makes it distinctive is its “non-bypassing” approach that works directly through psychological material as the gateway to spiritual realization, exploring ego patterns and childhood conditioning to understand how each psychological structure was built around a “hole” where essential aspects (universal spiritual qualities like love, compassion, will, clarity) were lost and can be recovered. Taught through the Ridhwan School with approximately 4,500 students worldwide, it represents an integrated psycho-spiritual path that combines Eastern understanding of personality’s emptiness with detailed Western psychological exploration, recognized by prominent teachers as one of the most balanced spiritual psychologies available today.
The Diamond Approach invites us to discover our love of the truth for the sake of truth itself - what this means to you we will discover in our sessions and you will have opportunities to study and read more about this if when you join the programs. There is nothing more important than knowing yourself! You have heard it probably many times and you might be saying : well what does that mean? I know who I am. So I am asking , why are you here? Do you have a nagging feeling that there is more? That some things are just “not working” - and probably never have? How do you go about finding out? You cannot fix anything with the same method that has created the issue, the block - so if thinking of yourself in a particular way prevents you from being healthier, have more energy and life force, enjoy life more, are more able to contribute and do the things you want to do, something may be off here. That’s where the Diamond Approach adds a valuable perspective not to “fixing” itself but to the wider view of why things are working well and what we can do to land “in our coordinates” from where pivoting and health navigation become much easier.
Sabine is an ordained teacher of the Diamond Approach (Ridhwan school) and teaches both nationally and internationally.
